Mar. 11--FARMERS MARKET WILL BE A DRAW: Avila Beach fans soon will have another reason to visit this popular seaside town on Friday nights.
Starting next month, the Avila Business Association plans to launch weekly farmers markets showcasing the area's fresh seafood and local farm produce. Set along the town's new beachfront promenade, the market also will include food from local restaurants, music and occasional beach volleyball tournaments.
"We have this natural, beautiful space and want to make it a wholesome, entertaining event with lots of fresh food, snacks and music," said Leonard Cohen, the association's vice president.
