EAGLE, Colo. _ The judge in the Kobe Bryant sexual assault case decided late Monday to postpone the first court appearance of the 19-year-old woman accuser until later this month.
Judge Terry Ruckriegle said he wanted to more carefully consider the scope of questioning the woman would face regarding her medical, mental and sexual history.
The woman who accused Bryant of sexually assaulting her June 30 at the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera was originally scheduled to testify Tuesday. She was expected to face a wide range of queries from Bryant's defense team of Pamela Mackey and Hal Haddon.
But after hearing closed-door testimony from an Eagle County Sheriff's Office detective and the accuser's former boyfriend Monday afternoon, Ruckriegle went back on his earlier ruling denying the prosecution's bid to limit questioning. ...
