A friend and his wife in south Florida were driving to the airport early one recent morning to pick up their daughter and granddaughters visiting from Los Angeles. Along the way, they witnessed a suicide.
Here is his e-mailed description: "As we passed under the overpass on which we would eventually drive on our way into the airport, we saw someone standing on the concrete guard rail. We assumed it was a workman, possibly fixing something. As we looped around the large circle, we saw the police cars with lights flashing and realized that something was wrong.
