BAGHDAD _ Less than a month after becoming the first Iraqi civil-defense troops allowed to live and work independently in Baghdad, Bravo Company was ordered this week to dismantle its headquarters and move back to a U.S. military base, leaving some members threatening to quit.

U.S. officials say the move is only temporary, though no date has been set for Bravo Company's 160 members to return to the field. The about-face has confused and frustrated the Iraqi troops, who had expressed pride at representing a major milestone in the transition to Iraqi control of the capital.
