Feb. 11--Downtown real estate agent Edgar Lopez stands on the exact spot where, as a boy, he shined shoes in a once-thriving downtown Las Cruces, and looks across Griggs Avenue to the two-story home of Southwest Counseling.
Lopez renovated the building several years ago from a once-dilapidated structure to the stuccoed, high-ceiling building it is today.
Now, he's envisioning a similar transformation of the old Las Cruces Furniture building at the south end of the Downtown Mall.
