It appears somebody made quite a New Year's resolution for Mathieu Dandenault.
On Dec. 31, Dandenault moved from defense to forward for the Red Wings, a result of Chris Chelios' return from a knee injury and the coaches' desire to continue playing rookie Niklas Kronwall. Saturday's 4-4 tie against Carolina was Dandenault's 14th game at forward; his only game back on defense was Jan. 24 against Phoenix, when defenseman Jiri Fischer served a one-game NHL suspension.
The coaches like the speed Dandenault adds at right wing on the fourth line and have bypassed opportunities to move him back to defense. Coach Dave Lewis ...
