WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. _ Who are these suddenly reeling Purdue Boilermakers who are close to ruining a special season?
And how do you get rid of them?
"We can't trade players," coach Gene Keady said, "so we'll work with what we've got."
Keady's previously tough-minded players have morphed into non-competitive imposters who can't close the deal. Tuesday's loss at Indiana was understandable. Saturday's 65-59 choke job against road-fodder Ohio State was not.
"There's something going on I don't understand," Keady said.
