HOUSTON _ Gil Brandt, the Cowboys' former player personnel director, felt as if he had just lost the biggest game of his life Saturday after three of his former players were denied admission to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
"I've never been so disappointed," Brandt said. "I just can't understand it. I just don't understand it."
Bob Hayes, Rayfield Wright and Cliff Harris were not among those elected to the Hall of Fame. The Hall's 39-member board of selectors instead selected John Elway, Barry Sanders, Bob Brown and Carl Eller to the Class of 2004.
