I wish NFL coaches knew better. But they don't, not even in the worst possible instances. There was no reason the score should have ended 32-29 in New England's favor, other than a coach out-Foxing himself.
CBS's Phil Simms screamed it at exactly the same moment I did Sunday: You don't go for two-point conversions with 12:40 left in the game! You don't risk a guaranteed point when there are many more possessions left in regulation!
