HOUSTON _ Carolina Panthers receiver Ricky Proehl didn't celebrate excessively Sunday after catching a 12-yard touchdown pass from Jake Delhomme that tied the Super Bowl at 29 with 1minute, 8 seconds to play.
"I had been in that situation before," Proehl said. "I knew there was time left."
In the Super Bowl two years ago, when he played for the St. Louis Rams, he'd caught a 26-yard touchdown pass from Kurt Warner with 1:30 to play to tie that game at 17. He then watched kicker Adam Vinatieri kick a 48-yard field goal on the game's final play to give the Patriots a 20-17 win.
"I knew it wasn't over," Proehl said.
When Panthers kicker John Kasay booted the ensuing kickoff out of bounds, giving New England the ball at its 40, Proehl's sense of dread set in.
"I got that sick feeling again," said Proehl, who made four catches for 71 yards.
