May 9--Despite what has been labeled "Fordifying," the 2003 Jaguar X-Type sedan comes with enough panache and plushness to proudly push along its leaping-cat hood ornament.
The press fleet car was particularly intriguing because it was a personal first, something not seen in nearly 20 years of reviewing --- a Jag with a manual transmission.
Only 5 percent of the X-Types headed for North America will be so equipped, so the demand isn't expected to produce waiting lines.
