May 3--HOEVEN APPOINTS LOCALS TO BOARDS: North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven recently appointed two area residents to serve on state boards.
Hoeven appointed Jim Hines of Cavalier to a three-year term on the state Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners. Hines is a retired Army colonel. The board is responsible for the proper licensure of addiction counselors who practice in North Dakota.
Karlene Warner of Devils Lake has been reappointed to a three-year term on the Independent Living Council. Warner is a learning disabilities teacher in the Devils Lake School System. The council works to establish and expand independent living services to meet the needs of people with disabilities in the state.
SAGASER ANNIVERSARY MARKED IN FARGO: Steven Sagaser, Grand Forks County Extension agent, was honored for 10 years with the North Dakota State University Extension Service at the spring conference in April in Fargo.
NDSU Vice President of Agriculture Pat Jensen presented the award. In addition to awards, the Extension conference included training for county, area and state staff.
