LOUISVILLE, Ky. _ Call him the Ernie Banks of horse racing.
Bobby Frankel is a Hall of Famer widely acknowledged as one of the best at his profession who, nonetheless, still has that annoying asterisk attached to his name.
He, too, has never won the big one.
For Banks, the Chicago Cubs' legendary shortstop and first baseman of another era, it was the World Series.
For Frankel, it is the Kentucky Derby.
