HIRAM TOWNSHIP, Ohio _ Ohio prairie lovers are getting a boost from a Portage County company that collects and markets Ohio prairie seeds.
Ohio Prairie Nursery harvests and processes Ohio native prairie seeds and markets them.
That enables prairie lovers to plant Ohio-only seeds and avoid planting seeds from other states. That creates really native habitats, said company partner Bob Kehres.
The specialty seed company grows the seed on a farm of 18 acres off Alpha Road in Hiram Township and a second farm of 115 acres near Thompson, Ohio.
