Apr. 3--You think we'd be numb by now to yet another revelation of executive malfeasance. Somehow, though, we still retain the ability to be shocked.

The latest account hits close to home for many of us. Mike Gullion, the powerhouse behind the amazing growth of Gold Banc, is accused of misappropriating bank money as his own -- to the tune of $2.5 million over the last five years.

Those who know him are profoundly disappointed. "What was he thinking?" is a commonly heard rejoinder to the news.
