SAN JOSE, Calif. _ E-mail and the Web have made it easier to find job openings and apply for them. But in today's market, they have also helped inundate employers with resumes, creating new challenges for both job seekers and employers.
Intel receives between 15,000 and 20,000 resumes each month. Stanford has a database of 250,000 received in the past 2 { years. Google receives 1,000 per day.
"It's gone up dramatically in the last 12 months," said Stacy Sullivan, director of human resources at Google, which plans to hire 800 people this year. "We continue to see better and better resumes as some of the stronger companies continue to have layoffs."
