CLEVELAND, OH -- The US market for micropower products and systems is projected to increase 10% per year through 2006 to $6.5 billion. Although the economic slowdown and concomitant easing of energy shortages have removed some of the urgency for immediate large-scale deployment, a number of factors are working to promote growth in micropower products demand including the economic recovery and expansion, which will result in increased energy demands and place further pressure on the utility grid, prompting energy suppliers to look at alternative sources of supply, including micropower. These and other trends are presented in Micropower, a new study from The Freedonia Group, Inc., a Cleveland-based industrial market research firm.
