underlit, the red leaves remind me
of perching on the window ledge with your cat,
waiting for the wind to shake the plum tree leaves
in the late afternoon light that
you always complained about
missing, but never actually sat
still long enough to enjoy. I sometimes doubt
you even saw it before I pointed it Out to you.
