PALO ALTO, Calif. _ He has done everything for Stanford over the last 11 months. He organized the off-season workouts, demanded accountability and established goals. He has been the leader in the locker room and on the court, the point guard and the top scorer. He has made clutch shots and critical free throws and played his way onto the all-conference team.
So when Stanford guard Julius Barnes elevated for a three-point shot in the final seconds to force overtime, it appeared he would expand a sterling senior resume.
"When it left my hand, I thought it was going in," Barnes said. "It felt good off my fingertips."
