COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. _ Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, R.-Colo., called for a "clean slate" in the wake of Lloyd Ward's resignation as U.S. Olympic Committee chief executive, saying Ward's "inner circle" of staffers should be the next to go.
"I think (Ward) did the right thing and I commend him for that, but I've several times said that I don't think (the USOC) can be put back on track until there's a clean slate, and just Lloyd Ward leaving doesn't make it a clean slate," Campbell said. "He brought in with him several people and they ought to leave with him.
