JUPITER, Fla. _ Not pretty along the way, but productive in the end.
Left-hander Rick Ankiel prevailed_in the end, that's the only word for it_when he worked a scoreless inning in the St. Louis Cardinals' 7-3 loss to Florida on Saturday.
Ankiel walked two batters but struck out another, then got out of a two-on predicament with a double-play grounder_capping his first appearance against major-league hitters since last spring.
