LAWRENCE, Kan. _ Drew Gooden had 20 points and 18 rebounds Friday night for the Orlando Magic in a double-overtime loss to the New York Knicks.
Saturday, his former teammates at Kansas, Kirk Hinrich and Nick Collison, experienced senior day at Allen Fieldhouse and a 79-61 win over Oklahoma State.
Gooden is making millions as an NBA rookie, living the good life. But something in my Hallmark card world tells me that if given a choice, Gooden would have traded the 20 points, 18 rebounds and at least some of his $7 million salary to feel what Hinrich and Collison experienced Saturday.
