Feb. 24--When Dr. Kenneth Fath, a local cardiologist, needs to order medication for a patient he doesn't pull out a prescription pad. Instead, he walks up to a computer terminal at Alamance Regional Medical Center and types in the order.
Since 1998, doctors at the hospital have been using a computerized system to type in orders for patient services ranging from medications to lab tests.
