I couldn't help but wonder--as I read the article "Meaty Issues" in your February issue--if you were paid off by the Beef Council. What exactly is the "growing influence of meat"--that it weighs one down and is hard to flush from one's body with its cholesterol-clogging qualities? I think you've done a huge disservice to your readers telling them that meat is "healthy" and dismissing vegetarianism as a bygone fad.

The fact that one-third page of the article was designated for "meat safety" tips begs the question: "Why eat meat in the first place if it isn't safe?" And why promote eating meat when it can have the potential effect of making people less healthy, possibly suffering illness or even death?
