Apr. 12--State regulators yesterday approved the transfer of 180,000 NewPower Holdings Inc. customers to Peco Energy Co.
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission also approved a $36 million emergency rate increase for the Philadelphia Gas Works. The increase takes effect today and will boost the average customer's bill by $5.83 per month, or $70 annually.
