Apr. 12--IRVINE, Calif.--Management control changes that reportedly could be coming for locally based Lincoln-Mercury would not affect the Irvine operation or dealers, a spokesman said.
"People are thinking, 'Oh my God, they are packing up their boxes,' but that is not the case," said Jim Trainor, a spokesman for Ford Motor Co.'s Lincoln-Mercury division. "It is a speculative story by Financial Times (of London), and nothing has been decided."
Currently, Lincoln-Mercury executives report to Premier Automotive Group worldwide headquarters in London. ...
