OAKLAND, Calif. _ Kenny Rogers is 19-3 with a 3.41 ERA in his career while pitching at Oakland's Network Associates Coliseum, far and away his best record at any ballpark in the major leagues.
He pitches at the Coliseum Tuesday against the Oakland Athletics, his first start since July 17, and this may be the perfect place to be because he enters what he obviously knows is a crucial season for him.
He is 37, he is coming off surgery, he is in the last year of his contract and he was 5-7 with a 6.19 earned-run average in 2001.
