SAN BRUNO, Calif. _ Nancy Miller of Concord drove through the fog at 6 a.m. Monday morning to get a clearer picture of her family history. She was one of the first in line to see 1930s census records released for the first time at the National Archives in San Bruno.
Amateur genealogists from across the state gathered at the National Archives and Record Administration's Pacific Regional Office to see the data, which had been under a 72-year personal privacy restriction.
Miller searched microfilm for information about her father's side of the family, the Hattaways. Her father was born in an apartment above a drugstore in the tiny town of Sycamore, Georgia ...
