Apr. 1--ARRYX MARKETS BREAKTHROUGH RESEARCH TOOL--Chicago biotechnology company Arryx is using a $2.1 million second round of funding, announced last week, to step up production of a laser system that helps researchers manipulate hundreds of microscopic objects independently and simultaneously in three dimensions.
The system, called the BioRyx 200, hit the market in September with a list price of $250,000.
The company is negotiating with universities and biotech and pharmaceutical companies interested in the system but has yet to close a sale, Chief Executive Officer Lewis Gruber said.
