WICHITA, Kan. _ As is common for athletic directors at high-profile universities, Bob Frederick was criticized for almost every decision he made during his 14 years at Kansas.
"Now I don't have to worry about all the extraneous things," said Frederick, who resigned last year. "There's nobody coming up to me complaining about concessions, complaining about the coach, complaining about anything."
Frederick, though, made one decision nobody can second guess. He hired Roy Williams as basketball coach in July 1988.
