Gooden spoils Jackson's day.(Knight Ridder Newspapers)
MADISON, Wis. _ Luke Jackson felt helpless.
"Like most of the day," Oregon's 6-foot-7 sophomore said.
The Ducks were well on their way to being whipped 104-86 in Sunday's NCAA Midwest Regional final and were trailing by 15 points when Kansas' Nick Collison lobbed a pass over Jackson's head into Drew Gooden's hands.
Jackson immediately grabbed Gooden's jersey and yanked so hard he pulled the KU junior under the basket. Gooden made the two free throws and everyone moved on.
"I think he was just overmatched," Collison said of Jackson's unique defense. "Drew's 6-10, such a good post player with all kinds of athleticism. (Jackson's) a perimeter …
