News that ABC is dumping Dennis Miller for John Madden and Fox has signed trailer-trash figure-skating diva Tonya Harding and Amy Fisher (a k a "The Long Island Lolita") for a prime-time boxing match has left me eerily unsurprised.
Miller's two years as Al Michaels' nattering sidekick on "Monday Night Football" were, in sum, stunningly underwhelming.
And I say this as someone who applauded the move when it was made and continued giving Miller the benefit of the doubt long after other, wiser heads had pulled the gallows trapdoor beneath him.
