"The sun was shining, the sky was endless blue and you played all day with your friends. Do you remember when life was like that? Ever wanted to go back?" That's how the brochure for Las Olas Surf and Snowboard Safaris for Women begins.
Founded in 1997, the Las Olas adventures are female-only vacations that are more like summer vacations of your youth. "We're like a reverse finishing school," says founder Bev Sanders. "We make girls out of women."
Here's how it works: Each day is loosely designed for guests, and participation is encouraged, but not mandatory. The focus is surfing in Mexico or snowboarding in British Columbia, but there's also yoga, massages, kayaking, bicycling, hiking and ice skating to choose from.
