Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Michael Waltrip, teammates at Dale Earnhardt Inc., swapped wins in the Winston Cup races at Daytona International Speedway last season, with Waltrip winning the Daytona 500 and Earnhardt Jr. the Pepsi 400. Each also finished second when the other won.
Saturday in the NASCAR Grand National series opener at Daytona, Earnhardt Jr. claimed victory with Waltrip stuck to his rear bumper, .162 seconds behind.
It's Earnhardt's first series win at the historic speedway that claimed the life of his father in a last-lap wreck in last year's Daytona 500, and the first of two races he's running in 2002 in the No.3 _ the other is at Charlotte in May.
