It is very hard for photographers not to see the world as a series of individual moments, snapshots just waiting to be taken. Angle and I travel to some of the world's most pristine wildernesses -- from the icy extremes of Antarctica to the wide open spaces of Serengeti. Such places are so overwhelming in their visual intensity that we sometimes find ourselves at a loss as to where to point the camera. It would be nice to just absorb the aura of a place -- see the big picture without having a camera glued to your face. It is certainly important as wildlife photographers to try and capture a sense of the landscape that the wild animals inhabit rather than always closing in for …
