Feb. 15--One year after a big merger created GlaxoSmithKline P.L.C., the company posted a 13 percent increase in 2001 earnings, bolstered by strong sales of the asthma drug Advair.
Executives of the world's second-largest drug company yesterday predicted earnings growth in the mid-teens for 2002, and for the first time forecast growth in the "low-teens or better" for 2003.
