FORT WORTH, Texas _ Even with no sightings of four escapees since they broke out of the Montague County jail late Monday, residents of two small towns in southern Oklahoma remain wary.
Speculation among locals and law enforcement officials has assumed the foursome may have fled to Oklahoma because escapee Curtis Allen Gambill, 24, is from Terral, Okla., and Joshua Luke Bagwell, 23, is from Waurika, Okla.
"Most people really seem to think they're not around here," Waurika Mayor Biff Eck said. "Most people around here know them by sight. If they had been around here, they would have been easily identified."
