NEW ORLEANS _ There are those who would ask Bill Belichick if the Patriots are a team of destiny.

"We are a team," he said in reply to that question, which now is being asked by people from all around the country, not just New England, "that tries to prepare well each week, go out and play hard, and we feel like we need to make enough plays to win. If we don't make them, no one is going to make them for us.

"We're accountable for what happens out there. That's the way we approach the game. We don't think anyone else is going to do it for us."

That answer is why I am not one of those who would ask Bill Belichick if the Patriots are a team of destiny.
