NEW ORLEANS _ Bill Belichick never will forget the way he felt when he heard the news that Marshall Faulk had been traded out of the AFC East and into the NFC West.

"It was one of the happiest days of my life," said Belichick, who was defensive coordinator of the Jets in 1999, when Indianapolis dealt Faulk to St. Louis for the Rams' second- and fifth-round draft picks. "I was glad to get rid of him for two games a year.

"Out of all the players in the league _ there have been a lot of great players during my time, and I don't want to take away anything from anybody _ he is the hardest player to match up against.
