Answer:
The event is a combination of the two main elements of Nordic skiing _ jumping and cross-country. The finishing order in a ski jump competition determines the starting order for a cross-country ski race. The athlete jumping the farthest starts first, with the others taking off behind him in intervals determined by points earned in the jumping event. The winner is the first to cross the finish line in the cross-country race. Only men compete.
