Jan. 17--Specialty chip-maker LSI Logic Corp. said Wednesday it is cutting 1,400 jobs worldwide, including 41 in Colorado Springs, as the company restructures its business to combat the recession and return to profitability.
Most of the job cuts took effect immediately.
The moves further diminish LSI's presence in the Springs and signal the parade of job cuts, cutbacks and closures in the local semiconductor industry have not ended.
