"Practice on New Year's," Allen Iverson sang, "we're sorry."
Sorry, as in 12-18 and in need of practice the next day, despite any New Year's Eve revelry. Yes, the Sixers worked Tuesday, preparing for Wednesday night's game against the Phoenix Suns, who had the day off. It was, all agreed, a productive, late-afternoon workout.
"Maybe if we'd have been 18-12, we could've had a day off," coach Larry Brown said.
Of course, the Sixers painfully are not 18-12. They are 7 games behind New Jersey in the Atlantic ...
