DETROIT _ Those involved in the Pistons' lineup change _ in which Michael Curry and Dana Barros were replaced by Corliss Williamson and Chucky Atkins _ agreed that the biggest difference is that the first unit now has a legitimate low-post presence in Williamson.
Before the change, the second unit had the Pistons' two best post players: Williamson and backup center Zeljko Rebraca.
With both players' strength near the basket, coach Rick Carlisle and his staff, along with the players, figured that Williamson and Rebraca were, at times, getting in each other's way.
Now, with Williamson on the first unit, both should be even more effective.
