VANCOUVER, British Columbia _ A few nights ago, the Flyers ended five years of frustration with a road victory over the Colorado Avalanche.
On Monday night at General Motors Place, they extended the Vancouver Canucks' misery to 12 years with a 2-1 win in a game that featured hitting, good skating, and scoring chances for both teams.
Simon Gagne won it when he scored on a backhander high into the net with 2.8 seconds remaining. Gagne took a pass from Jeremy Roenick, coming around the net toward the right post, and put in his team-high 17th goal.
