CHICAGO _ The first No. 1 draft pick Chicago Bulls general manager Jerry Krause made was a power forward, Charles Oakley.

The only time the Bulls were in the draft lottery before 1998, Krause selected a power forward.

Following the run of six championships, the Bulls fell into the draft lottery twice and each time Krause selected a power forward with the team's first No. 1 pick.

From 1991 through 1995 Krause picked a power forward with each No. 1 pick: Mark Randall, Byron Houston, Corie Blount, Dickey Simpkins and Jason Caffey.

With the only No. 1 pick in the draft Krause had, he selected power forward Elton Brand. And with the fourth pick in the first round …
