TV beer commercials send wrong message, readers complain.(The Dallas Morning News)

A woman called last week. She said her name was Ruth and she was absolutely incensed.

"Have you seen that beer commercial they are showing on TV?" she said. "If not, please watch it. I want to make sure I am seeing what I think I'm seeing."

Ruth was not very clear and there are a lot of beer commercials on TV. But somehow I knew what she was talking about.

It's a beer ad that shows two attractive women in a bar ordering a beer. They look across the room, obviously looking to pick up a few men.

One woman sees a man and asks the waiter to send a beer to the good-looking guy.

Her friend sees a buff-looking man and she also asks the waiter to send over a beer.

One man smiles and salutes the women. The other smiles too.
