In new magazines, Olsen twins sure sell themselves.(The Dallas Morning News)
When celebrity magazines named after one celeb _ such as O, The Oprah Magazine and rosie _ aren't enough, there's now a twin version: mary-kateandashley, "edited by" the Olsen twins.
The premiere issue begins with Mary-Kate and Ashley's Top 10 reasons why they created a magazine (No. 1: "Because we can't find a magazine that features the things we want to know about."). To its credit, mary-kateandashley has a less perfectionist vibe that feels more in tune with its demographic than magazines such as Teen People and CosmoGirl.
It has well-intentioned stories such as "You're Better Looking Than You Think," exposing the artifice that goes into typical magazine photo shoots.
But between the good intentions lie the Mary-Kate and Ashley ads. Here's a rundown:
