CHICAGO _ After missing the first three games of the season because of a left hamstring strain, Fire captain Peter Nowak will return to the lineup Saturday against the Tampa Bay Mutiny in Tampa.
"Everything is looking good," Nowak said after a training session Friday. Nowak, 36, would like to play 90 minutes but will see how the game develops.
Nowak's experience and leadership will be a welcome ingredient for the Fire, which blew a two-goal lead in the final 15 minutes and lost in overtime last week in Dallas.
"For our mentality, it's awfully good to get him back," coach Bob Bradley said.
