New IRA book offers 45 motivating language arts activities

Worm Painting ... Flower Power ... Finger Plays: What could these three things possibly have to do with the teaching of reading?

It's simple: these are just three of the 45 unique, motivating activities for children featured in Worm Painting and 44 More Hands-On Language Arts Activities for the Primary Grades, a new book published by the International Reading Association. Prepared by E. Jo Ann Belk and Richard A. Thompson, this book focuses on activities that help develop language arts skills in K-3 classrooms while continually reinforcing how much fun learning can be.
