JERUSALEM--A day after Israeli and Palestinian security chiefs discussed ways to halt violence, a Palestinian suicide bomber detonated explosives at a bus stop in a Tel Aviv suburb Sunday, killing one Israeli and injuring 50 others.
The blast killed an Israeli doctor whose job was treating injured soldiers and other trauma victims at a rehabilitation clinic. Among the seriously wounded was a 14-year-old boy on his way to school.
It was the fourth bomb this month to explode in and around Kfar Saba, a town a few miles over the border from the Palestinian town of Kalkilya. Three Israelis, including two teenagers, have been killed in the area.
"The boy still had his school bag on his back," said Nuriel Armon, 34, a victim who later described the scene to reporters at a hospital. "As I ran all I could yell was, `The boy, the boy.' It is something I will never forget."
